Chris Rini on the Return Road

While long-time Pro Mod/Top Sportsman driver Chris Rini has been recovering from a serious crash on March 13th, so has his Jerry Bickel Race Cars built 69’ Camaro. Rini suffered multiple broken ribs on the left side and serious bruises at the NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem race in Bradenton, Florida.

Rini and his crew will head to Bickel Tuesday to pick up his ATI Performance Products-backed Camaro. Hopefully, time will allow for testing on Wednesday directly before the PDRA Texas Nationals in Ennis May 19-21. Powering the freshly rebuilt Camaro will be a Charlie Buck 903 but a brand new Buck 941 will be installed between the rails if all goes well. A brand new ATI lock-up converter will be in the car for the first time.

I am good, Picking up the car on Tuesday from Jerry Bickel. May test Wednesday if there is enough time before the PDRA Race. Texas is the first race back for me and my team. Great bunch of guys most are coming with me to Bickel then on to Texas. Going out with the Charlie Buck 903 but bringing the brand new Charlie Buck 941 just in case or if all goes well we might put it in. Also have ATI's new lock up which we will be running for the first time. So all is looking great”

Before the incident in March, Chris has had a challenging past six months beginning with a serious incident at his own company loading a vehicle onto his tow truck. In only a matter of seconds, the truck pinned him leaving him with serious injuries including multiple broken ribs, broken shoulder and water around his lung.

No stranger to winning championships, Rini was 2010 & 2012 NMCA Pro Street Champion, 2012 Big Dog Champion as well as 2013 Extreme Outlaw ProMods Driver of the Year & Iron Man of the Year.

Chris would like to thank his fiancé Emily for all the help and support as well as long-time sponsors ATI Performance Products, Buck Racing Engines, Chris’ Automotive Center, ProFab Performance Headers and Jerry Bickel Race Cars. Along with Charlie Buck, JC Beattie, David Campbell, Tim Davis, Todd Kessler, Drew Amitrano. Finally a HUGE shout out and thank you to Ken Moser for all his hard work on and off the track!!

We wish Chris and his crew the best of luck next week relaunching his 69 Camaro in Texas.
