Season of Change. Nelson and Marla exit SGMP

It seems that 2020 just seems to continue down what the hell just happened path. Last night we heard from Marla Hoyos and she let us know that she and her husband Nelson have resigned from their position at South Georgia Motorsports Park.

Over the last few years, Nelson and Marla have been a staple at SGMP. Numerous times I have rolled through the gates and seen the beautiful smile of Marla, and seen Nelson busting his ass making sure that everything was happening that needed to happen. Unfortunately, that is a sight that we would be seeing anymore.

While we didn’t get into the personal details of the decision, Marla stated that it was time for them to move on and that meant leaving a track they love so much. It also means that Nelson and Marla are what we would call “free agents” and will be available to help another facility grow into something great. Both of them bring a great amount of experience to any track that they go to next. This will also give Nelson the ability to concentrate on his sprayer business, which he started years ago while in Louisiana.

I will personally miss their smiling faces at SGMP and the conversations I get to have with Marla, which usually lasts hours at a time. We at E3xtreme wish both of them the absolute best moving forward and I know we will see them somewhere else sharing that leadership, knowledge, and welcoming smiles soon enough.

As far as a replacement, we have not yet spoken to Ozzy Moya regarding the matter or who will be taking over the day to day at SGMP. When we know that, we will make sure to bring it to you.
