UPDATE: Tony Schumacher & The Army Team PARKED

We at E3xtreme received word from inside sources that the Army team, headed by multi-time World Champion Tony Schumacher have parked the car.

You heard that right, the winningest driver in Top Fuel history has had to park his ride due to a lack of sponsorship. While we have not heard from DSR media reps at this time, we did hear from multiple trusted sources that the team was dismissed and will not be making the trip to Pomona.

After reviewing the entry list for the opening race of the season, it does indicate that Tony has been removed from the entry for the Ponoma race. Our sources stated that they were close to closing at least two separate sponsors, but have not “sealed the deal” at this time.

Since this is an on-going story, we will make sure to update you with anything that we hear from our sources or from DSR directly.

UPDATE:

Per Tony’s Social Media Page:

Some of you have probably heard the news that our car is parked. We are still working on a sponsorship deal. These things take time but like I said before, I am absolutely NOT retiring. I love this sport and have dedicated most of my life to it. I love my team and they are the best guys I know. Unfortunately, our car will not be at Pomona but I will still be there to support my teammates and fans. Thank you all for your continued support and patience!
