Just when I thought that NHRA couldn’t screw up that bad right off the bat, it’s exactly what they did. As you read here on E3xtreme yesterday, NHRA has taken over the Pro Mod class and already dropped the ball, and kicked it across the street.
I try to always find the positive in things, but they dropped the 2020 schedule today and even Stevie Wonder can see that it is a terrible joke of a schedule. Norwalk, who was rumored to be off the schedule is confirmed. A staple in the pro mod world for a damn long time is gone. Atlanta, which is a home away from home for more than half the damn field is off the schedule as well. It also appears that the Charlotte fall race is gone for pro mod. Does NHRA know where the hell Pro Mod comes from? Apparently not!
Just when you thought that was as stupid as it gets, NHRA has added the following locations: Brainerd (Which we reported yesterday), Denver (Which we reported yesterday), and Chicago. Dallas is also back on the schedule for 2020. I am completely flabbergasted that the schedule makers are that out of touch. Yet again, NHRA has proven that they absolutely no clue, in my opinion, or someone is in their ear.
We will now only see pro mods three times after Indy (St. Louis, Dallas, and Vegas). Obviously I haven’t lost faith in a growing future for NHRA Pro Mod, but this schedule is about as asinine as possible.
